MAC Pro Concealer... Almost

MAC Pro Longwear Concealer $16.50

I was excited about a longwear concealer.  Most of the concealers I have tried do not last as long as I would like.  Now that I am a BIT older, I am finding I need to wear concealer everyday. I am not a " touch up" kinda person so I need it to last.

You know that swoony feeling you get when you know you've  purchased the "one"? This one seemed a dream, it became one with my skin, did not crease. It was almost like a stain  - it didn't just sit on top of my skin.

But then... That friggin' container!! Jeeeeeez!!  it let's out enough product to cover your ENTIRE face. This is a highly pigmented product. you need very little maybe a bit more than a pin. The glass container has a pump that let's out a tremendousI waste enough for about 5 or more applications. No joke. this pisses me off. Who wants to waste money, right? An mua at MAC suggested I find another container and transfer the contents. No thanks. I am just going to find something else.

OMG, MAC!! You FINALLY made a mascara that doesn't suck!!

I looooove this mascara! I have never taken MAC mascaras seriously. I always find far superior drugstore mascaras. MAC
mascaras usually clump, go on too heavy and just suck. Now, "Haute and Naughty" is awesome!

The packaging? Genius - Literally a brush within a brush. The skinnier wand with the hot pink cap, is for a day look and the thicker wand with the purply, glittery cap is for a more dramatic look. The pigment is rich and dark and the formula really lengthens and thickens.

I usually rotate several mascaras but this one I use exclusively. It is that good.

What say you? Have you tried this one yet?

Bare Naturelle Mascara! HG! Ah, No...

Finally! My HG Mascara! Well almost.. I almost did not buy this mascara . I erroneously thought the Bare Naturelle had that irritating rubber bristle brush which makes my lashes too spidery.
The brush is white which was weird at first. The bristles are tightly spaced which is a big plus. I have very thin lashes and have found that the tighter bristle works the best. I got this in “Blackest Black” and it truly is a rich black. In one coat I had beautiful, separated lashes. A second coat added significant length. I was impressed. They looked natural and lush. Perfect.
Alas, after about 2 weeks it changed on me. I have never had a mascara change on me that fast. My lashes started to clump a bit when applying and went on a little dry. As fabulous as my lashes looked I do not think replacing the tube every 2 weeks works well in this economy, no?

To Quote Marvin Gaye, Ms. J, "Here My Dear,"

I was reading Marie Claire today. They always have thoughtful, feverish articles about the plights of women in third world countries. I usually think how forward thinking and global they are until I read the rest of the magazine and it is all Aryan Nation. My point is: PUT WOMEN OF ALL RACES IN YOUR F**CKING MAGAZINE!! Do not just play lip service. It drips of condensation and white supremacy. But alas, I am a complex yet shallow person and I will continue to buy it as long as they have great shoes.

Bergdorf Blondes. Why.

Ok. I just finished reading "Bergdorf Blondes" by that darling "it" girl Vogue contributor Plum Sykes. I wanted a breezy and fun read for the summer and thought this could be it.

I hated it. You would think I would have learned something after the hideous "The Devil Wears Prada." Now God knows I love Vogue and am a fashion whore. I thought this book would temper my love for all things fashion with a wee bit of depth. Not gonna happen. This book is vapid nonsense.
